I am back in Tennessee after my little vacation at home. It's always sad for me to leave the mountains and I always think about the next time I can go back. I found that starting to collect Tamas again and actively making them a part of my daily life after not doing that for so long takes away some of the general stress of being away for the time being. One thing I can tell you is that I am NOT a city girl. I have a lot of anxiety, but getting back into my Tamas has started to get my mind off of things. That being said, I do bounce around between versions a LOT, so I'm probably just going to delete the little section about logs and post everything on this main page. I love running a Tama for a generation or two and then picking up a different version. Variety is the spice of life, right? :P The last time I made a post, I was running Tobes - a blue and pink V2 on generation five. He had since evolved into Memetchi! Here he is asleep and just before I shut him off for a while to run a V4.5, a version that I haven't really played with in depth a lot. Here's Tobes asleep. :) I really enjoyed my time with Tobes and I will most certainly start him back up soon, but I really wanted to delve into my V4.5 again. Back when I got my V4.5s, I was starting to move away from Tamas because at that point I was in high school and I didn't really run them anymore. I mostly just collected them because new versions were coming out. So I decided to start my V4.5. It's the purple transparent shell with the light purple lava lamp bubbles. I really like this shell design and mine is in pretty good condition as I never really ran it much. Once I turned it on I kinda remembered why. I'm not very attached to these characters. The last time I had been running this Tama, I had a Crackertchi named Cory. The Ura characters never really struck a chord with me - maybe because I'm just old school and I really hold on to those old characters. I never got to know these little guys. Nonetheless, I wanted to get him to the next generation. That happened... almost! Haha, you know me. Can't keep my hands on one Tama for too long. The main reason for that is the fact that I found a great deal on a P2 on eBay for $10! Ten freakin' dollars. It's used, but in amazing condition! Save for the sound being a little wonky (I think there's a connection issue or contact issue in there somewhere because it works if I tap it or hold the back on tighter), it's in great shape! Cory made it to adulthood and evolved into an UraMametchi. I wanted to go for the secret character you could get from him, but I wasn't quick enough with my points game. The Matchmaker showed up at around age 6 - two years earlier than she did with Tobes. It was a surprise, but a pleasant one considering my P2 came in today and I wanted to start it up! Here is Cory as a Crackertchi (brushing his teeth!) and with his baby right before I turned him off. So with that, I'll introduce you to my new (to me) P2 who hatched into a girl that I proceeded to call Iris. Not sure where the name came from, it's just the first thing that popped into my head. She is currently a Tonmarutchi now and happily bobbing around the screen full and content. I will likely keep her as long as I can until... My Tamagotchi P's arrives in the mail!! I'll admit it's my birthday tomorrow the 11th, so I decided to treat myself and splurge on a Tama that I have been eyeing for quite some time but have never pulled the trigger on it. The one I purchased in particular is the blue one and it is already patched to English. It didn't come with the original heart plug, but that didn't really bother me because A. It's already in English, B. It's in fantastic shape for being used, and C. It came with a gorgeous little handmade plug that looks like a little Minnie Mouse head that is red with polka dots and has a little bow. There were more pros than cons and it was at a somewhat reasonable price considering the others that were being sold for similar prices. I'm not the best at scoping out bargains and I'm aware I probably could've gotten a similar one for a lesser price on a Japanese auction site or something similar, but I am satisfied. I have a TMGC+C that I love so much, but it's the only color Tama I've really invested in. It got pretty overwhelming with all the different color versions coming out that I just kind of ignored that whole thing in favor of collecting connections and vintage versions. Recently I have started to learn more about them and I would eventually like to have one of each color version! I will be sure to make a post with pictures as soon as it arrives. :) Until then, I'll leave you with a photo of Iris as an egg. Evidently, it's my shtick to take my photos on the porch featuring my socks. (What can I say - I have cool socks.) - *mimitchi* ♥

If you read my last blog post, it probably seems like I took a vacation and never came back. Well... it sort of happened that way! A lot has happened between now and then. Funnily enough, today makes two years on the dot that I made that "Going out of Town" post. In the two years that I've been away from my tiny little hometown, I got married, moved in with my husband in Nashville, and have had three jobs! My husband just started his last year of graduate school and we are planning to move back to our hometown after he finishes.
In the meantime, I had put down Tamagotchis throughout the past two years because, honestly, there was simply too much going on. Now that things have calmed down and we are rounding out our last year in Nashville, I've had the time to start up a Tama again until our next move. The majority of my collection is still back in my hometown as I didn't really want to be moving them around and losing them. I recently brought back with me my TMGC+C, my blue w/ pink bubbles V2, and I found a few of the 20th anniversary minis in a local bookstore, so I have one of those as well. I have also heard about the news of the Tamagotchi Meets and the leaked Gamestop inventory showing the new P1s and P2s that are planned to release in late September! I am super excited for those because the original Tamagotchis are some of my most favorite to collect. The new designs are also gorgeous! I may even have set a reminder on my phone to get to Gamestop that day... Since I posted, I have had some new additions to my collection - a Morino and a gray camo P2, both from eBay. I will be sure to post pictures soon, as they are in my collection back home! As for right now, I am currently running my blue V2 and attempting to see how high of a generation count I can get. I have always had the habit of just resetting and starting fresh and never really going for high generations., but this time I'm going to just let it go and see how high I can get! When I started it back up, I found a Toratchi named Alfie who already had a baby girl! He was a 2nd generation. In the time since I started him, his baby girl grew up to be a Kusatchi named Bowie, and she has just had a baby boy who is named Tobes and is currently on the 4th generation! I will definitely get to posting the rest of my collection photos as well when I can get back home and get some new pictures. I'll probably post some updates on the tama I'm currently running in between the collection photos as well. I have also made a new Instagram dedicated to Tamagotchis! If you would like to come follow me over there, my username is @m1m1tchi. I will also post the link in my Contact section. :) Thanks again for reading my blog and I hope that wherever you are, you are having a fantastic day! ♥ Hey everyone! This is just a little note to say posts will be put off for a few days. There may be a post tomorrow, but it's my boyfriend's birthday this weekend and I'm going to Nashville to visit him! He goes to graduate school there and so we are taking this weekend to celebrate. Expect the next updates to contain my thoughts on the Connections! I hope you're all well. ♥
*mimitchi* ♥ Where do I even start with my Nano? This thing has nostalgia written all over it for me! I can't remember when I got it or who got it for me, but it was sometime in the midst of the first virtual pet craze of '97 that I ended up with it. Maybe it was '98? I can't remember but it was at some point back then that I became utterly and I mean UTTERLY OBSESSED with this thing. (Sidenote: excuse the poor quality and focus of these pics, I got a little lazy taking collection photos... oops... ;P) Even though I'm more of a dog person, I ended up having this orange Nano Kitty with purple buttons. As you can see, the logo is rubbed off the top and the thing is quite dusty. Like I said earlier, I really don't even know where to start, so I'll just jump right back into my childhood. Whenever I look at it, I'm instantly reminded of the fascination I had with it. A little pet??? Inside a tiny keychain?!?! It was literally AMAZING to me. Sorta like that whole thing in the 90's where everybody put water in everything. Water beds, water/glitter keychains, that weird watery tube you squeezed and couldn't keep it in your hand no matter how hard you tried... Despite my intense love for this little thing, that didn't stop me from losing it at every single turn. It was tiny and I was also tiny with a tiny sense of responsibility and I could never keep up with it. And subsequently, I was HUGELY disappointed in myself when I lost it and I wasn't happy in my soul until I found it again. I would usually find it in boxes stored away under my bed or something with other tiny knick knacks in it and would never understood how it got there. I would just assume it had teleportation powers because how could it end up in my hand yesterday but in this box the next? I never understood. While I'm talking about my tiny sense of responsibility, that leads me to the next point about my Nano and that is that I could not keep it alive if my short life depended on it. That poor cat never once made it to the adult stage and would always leave me; bag thrown across his shoulder waving a flag that simply said "Bye Bye!" And I would get sad and mad and disappointed and ultimately start over, only to repeat the process. I can remember finding it with a billion poops on the screen and disciplining it because I thought it was a real animal and if you told it "No! Bad kitty! No pooping in the house!" It would get the point and start using the toilet. Wrong. That just made it want to get the heck outta dodge more. I can also remember never knowing what in the world the buttons meant and what they did because I probably threw the instructions out the window as soon as I got it. All this coupled with the fact that I could never acquire batteries for it and you have your typical 90's child who is absolute shite at caring for a tiny virtual being. It's in pretty meh condition, but it still works perfectly! Two of the back screws are missing and only God knows where they ended up. All in all, the Nano is actually a wonderful VP. I don't consider it a Tamagotchi knock-off in the least because it has it's own way of gameplay and quirkiness that's totally unique. The animations are adorable and so are the sounds and the games are fun, too. You get to either choose which side your animal is going to pick, or chase a toy. I like the chase the rat game the best! I also like how your little dude can walk from location to location on the screen instead of staying in one place the entire time. The pixels are great quality as well - they don't show up at all dimly in the background when the device is on like the Tamagotchi's pixels do. Instead, the only pixels you see are of the pet or the surroundings or the poops, etc. I'm not really sure if that made any sense, but hopefully you get what I mean. ;P I also like that this one has a shower feature on it, something that would take a little longer to make it onto the Tamagotchi. Hopefully in this picture you can see what I mean by there being no dim pixels in the background of the active pixels. I like that a lot - it's got a nice, clean screen when you play.
This blog post turned into something of a trip back through time for me. Though it's not a Tamagotchi, it's probably the VP that's the most special to me with all the memories and feelings attached to it. It's a good thing I'm a little more cautious with where I put things these days or it may have never seen the light of day again. ;) Hopefully I can grab a Nano Puppy at some point as I would like to have one. This is one fantastic little VP! Hope you're all having a great day. *mimitchi* ♥ Another one of my favorite ancestors is the Tamagotchi Angel, or Angelgotchi! I remember getting this one not too long after I received my P1 and P2. I got the Angel as a birthday gift. I believe it was used, but it was pretty much in mint condition when I got it and still is, save for some paint wear around the silver wings. My first goal with the Angel was to get the twins - Futagotenshi. I got them the first time I attempted to and felt pretty accomplished! I love the mechanics of the Angel and how you have to keep it safe by tapping the screen to ward off anything that might harm it. The fact that it takes walks is also the cutest thing ever and I love that so much! I like to take walks too and see what's out in nature. You never know what you might see. ;) Also a little note - I won't talk about the growth charts or instructions or anything like that much here on this blog - this is simply a place to type my thoughts on Tamagotchi and my collection and add logs. I'm not here to tell you how to work Tamas as I figure there are enough resources out there, especially on TamaTalk or one of my favorite Tamagotchi websites - Mimitchi.com. Anyway, back to my Angel. As you can see I have the US Angel. I have thought about snagging another one, but usually the US versions are more expensive. I suppose they're rarer. I would like to have all three colors, though! The plain silver is my favorite, though I do love my yellow one. My favorite characters on the Angel are Ginjirotenshi and the Twins. I also like Pukuten with its big head! :P I can't remember exactly, but I think I HAVE gotten the lucky poop once. To my knowledge it's a little harder to achieve on the US version (or from what I remember, anyway). Despite it being a part of my collection for quite some time now, I have only played with the Angel a few times and that was when I first received it. I would like to play with it again at some point in the near future, but for now it will sleep soundly in my drawer. :) I love the Angel and it is one of my favorite Tamas, as are most of the other ancestors as you've probably figured out by now (darn kids and their fat, complicated color Tamagotchis...). Kidding... ;) So that's my Angel! Look out for tomorrow's post - It will be on my Nano Kitty! Since it is also considered an ancestor if you will, I'm going to post about it before I move on to the newer Tamas in my collection. It is also the very first VP I ever owned and the one that sparked a love that just won't stop. ♥
*mimitchi* ♥ I apologize for the late post! My internet has been out all day and all I've had to do is sit around because it is WAY too hot to enjoy life outside. I really can't stand the heat. Luckily, where I live there are four seasons, so fall can make its appearance any time now... Anyway, onto what you're actually here for. Today is all about my P2! I LOVE this thing. This is my absolute number one *favorite* Tamagotchi version. Now I don't know how obvious it was (let's be honest it's pretty obvious) that I am in love with Mimitchi. Ever since I saw her, she has been my favorite. Apparently her ears are actually a hat and nobody knows what's inside... That's my girl. Keepin' an air of mystery about her. I love that she is very intelligent and polite. I can only assume she loves science (like I do!). Apparently she also has a speech impediment, adding the words "Pyong" to the end of her sentences. According to her wiki, her favorite food is ice cream while her least favorite is a hamburger. I can dig ice cream being a favorite food. I know where you're coming from, Mimi. #icecreamfordinner #itsfine As you probably guessed by now, the P2 is my favorite version because of Mimitchi. Not entirely, but she's a big reason why. It's also because the P2 is simply that - the P2. A simple ancestor with great characters and a straightforward objective. Not to mention the cute animations. :) What can I say? I really love all the ancestor Tamas. My other favorite characters on the P2 are Takotchi and Zuccitchi. I always really loved Takotchi with it's periscope on top of it's head! I have gotten Mimitchi nearly every time I have played with my P2. I don't think I have gotten Takotchi yet, but I might try that very soon (along with Ginji on the P1)! The P2 also had great designs. I happen to have the white one with pink characters on it. I received this one also as a gift. It came from eBay and was given to me by my parents at the same time as the maroon P1. It's still in great condition, too! Physcially, anyway... I say that because at some point in time, something happened to the screen of my beloved P2. I'm not sure if it's a connection/pressure issue in the back, or that the LCD is simply just failing due to old age. It could be either one. I didn't receive it with the screen broken, but I have taken very good care of it and I can only assume it's like this for one of the two reasons above. Though I can still play with it and select them just fine, the bottom row of icons won't light up. Also, the bottom row of pixels is a little messed up. Other than that, it's fine and very much playable, but having the bottom row of icons gone and that little row messed up is just so annoying! I am working on getting a new P2 and it's my goal to have one in the next few months. This is the only one I have currently. I was consdering trying to take it apart and fix it, but I don't want to do that until I get a new one for fear of breaking it. I can't break my P2 more than it already is or I'll really be upset considering it's my favorite. I used to break open Tamas all the time to debug them and do other weird stuff because I was just curious, but it's been so long that I wouldn't remember how to do anything now.
This Tama has been in my collection for probably somewhere around 9 or 10 years now? It's been a while. I definitely plan on adding another one, though. Having one P2 just isn't enough. ;) I hope you're enjoying my blog so far! I always appreciate visitors. ♥ *mimitchi* ♥ It's another Gen 1 from 1997! I figure I don't have to say much about the Gen 1 in this post considering I covered a lot of my thoughts on it in the last post, but this Tamagotchi is certainly special in my collection. A beautiful blue/green with a purple border and pink buttons, it is completely mint in package. It's in such good condition it's hard to believe it's nearly 20 years old. There's almost no wear on this one and the tape is still looking perfect. I received this one as a birthday gift from my boyfriend who supports my Tamagotchi collection. ;) He likes to collect 90's wrestling toys so he knows where I come from. This one will probably never be opened. As much as I would love to crack it open and play with a brand new Tama, I think I'll leave it right where it is. I don't ever plan on selling it as it is special to me, but I'm definitely sure it will increase in value someday when I'm 60 years old and these things become ancient artifacts... haha. I hope I can keep it as mint as it is - it has only been in my collection for a year and so far, being stored in my drawer is going just fine. How do you all store your Tamas? I would like to know!
This one along with the previous Tama I posted are the only two P1's in my collection. I definitely like the color of this one better than my maroon one. It's also the only ancestor Tama I have with the ball keychain on it. The others have the ring. I'm not really sure what determined whether they got the ring or the ball chain... I don't think that differentiates in anything. If anyone knows why some have the ball chain and others have the ring, let me know. That's an odd thing to be curious about, but I really am! :P That's it for this member of my collection. :) Tomorrow, I'll talk a little about my Gen 2, my favorite. ♥ Hope you're all doing well. *mimitchi* ♥ As I was taking new collection photos this morning, seeing this baby made me want to start it up again. Contrary to how everyone else probably obtained this 1st Generation Tamagotchi, I ended up receiving this as a gift from eBay sometime around 2005 or 2006 when the Connections had made their appearance and sparked my old love for virtual pets. As a child of the 90's, one would probably expect me to have had a Tamagotchi at some point during that era, but I only ever had a Nano Kitty (which I will show at some point in time... wait for it! ;) ) but I carried that thing around with me EVERYWHERE. I loved the virtual pet life, no matter if it was a Tamagotchi I was holding, or a Nano Kitty. Something about a tiny creature inside a tiny keychain was just so fascinating to me. I was introduced to Tamagotchi in 2005 when the Connection came about. It reminded my of my Nano Kitty and how much I loved it, so I gave it a try, and never looked back. At some point during that obsession, I ran across the older versions and as I learned more about the different versions out there, I decided to start expanding my collection by adding this one, the very first version released. I believe it was gifted to me by my dad, as I wasn't old enough at the time to purchase them myself. When it came in the mail, the top was worn and a little bent, but I loved it more than anything, anyway. It had a unique smell to it when it arrived. It wasn't the smell of smoke or mustiness or anything, but something else. I'm just not sure how to describe it as the smell has went away since it's been in my house but there WAS a smell to it and I remember it clearly. Maybe it had been sitting in someone's house and that was the smell of their house. It wasn't a bad smell, though. Just... different. Immediately the first thing I noticed on the back was the characters because of the absence of Mimitchi. At first, I thought it worked like the Connections and that you could get Mimitchi on odd generations... don't ask why because I'm not sure why I had that impression... haha. I love these old characters a lot more than any of the new ones. Ginjirotchi and Nyorotchi are my favorite ones from this generation. The instructions on the back are listed in an easy to understand format and layed out very nicely. The color of my Gen 1 wasn't exactly what I had in mind to get, but apparently those other designs like the clock face design are hard to come across. Either that, or they may have only been released for the Japanese versions. Anyway, mine is a maroon color with a yellow border and yellow buttons. Of course, it's not mint in package because the first thing I wanted to do was play with the thing and see how it differed from the Connections! Immediately the simplicity of it took me back in time. It just screamed 90's. The beeps were a single tone and the buttons didn't have as great of a response as on the Connections, but it's all these things that make this little guy what it is. The pixels are bigger and your character doesn't bob around as much considering the smaller screen, but I loved it even more than the Connections. The games on it specifically took me back in time considering they were similar to the way the Nano's games were operated. Simple pick and choose games. I have gotten Memetchi quite a few times on this one. I also tend to get Tarakotchi, too. I have never gotten Ginjirotchi, though, which might be something to try eventually... I have read that he is a hard one to get, but if I ever got him it would make me super happy! I have kept it in very good condition and I really don't play this one much anymore, but now that I forgot that I had never gotten Ginjirotchi, I may hop on the google machine and try to read up on how to achieve getting a Ginji and I might just try it! I will log it here, of course, and also on TamaTalk. And yes, that would be a screw missing from the back. :P Other than that, my Generation 1 is in great condition and it is certainly one of my favorite versions of Tamagotchi. Every time I play this thing it takes me back in time. Things were simpler when we were young, yes?
I hope you're all doing well. :) See you next time. ♥ *mimitchi* Hi everyone! Before I get into posting an official blog post, I thought I would make my first one a little introduction! Even though I have an about me section, It's probably wise to introduce my blog and what I plan to put here. :)
My name is Kelli and I have been collecting Tamagotchis for around 12 years now! My collection continues to grow and I am happy to say that I haven't lost interest in collecting Tamas all this time. I recently remembered a long time ago there was a website called Blogagotchi where you could personalize your blog and keep track of your Tamagotchis and post photos and it pretty much acted like a traditional blog. I was a little bummed to find out I couldn't access my old logs there and read them as it would've provided all kinds of entertainment I'm sure... :P. So I thought about creating a Tumblr to dedicate to my Tamagotchi adventures, but ultimately, I wanted something that was (mostly) stand-alone, so I chose to create this blog here. :) Main Content Here on the main page, I will post mostly about my collection. I plan to make a new post every day or every other day dedicated to a Tamagotchi in my current collection, thoughts about it, what I love and hate about it, memories attached to it, where it came from, information about it, and etc. I will go from the oldest Tamagotchi in my collection (by release date) all the way to the newest. There's lot's of stories attached to this collection of mine, so there's sure to be some interesting times had here! :D The main page will also include my reviews on certain Tamas, Tamas I plan to add to my collection or that are on my wishlist, and thoughts about Tamagotchi in general. Sometimes I may include links to my favorite Tamagotchi websites for references and things of that nature. For the logs, you will be able to find those underneath the Logs page on the menu bar in the top left corner. Here I will keep my archived logs for you to read! :) I will also have links to my logs on TamaTalk as well. As I update my website, I will probably think of new content to add along the way, so check back frequently for anything new! Photos All photos included on this website under the Photos page in the menu and any included in my blog posts are mine unless otherwise credited. Photography is another great hobby of mine, so I will always do my best to provide you with high quality photos! Contact I have lots of social media links, so don't hesitate to contact me or send me an email if you have any questions, suggestions, comments, or you'd just like to say hi! I love making new friends, especially Tamagotchi collectors! :) If you'd like to follow me on Tumblr, please send me a message through email or one of my social media links and I will link my url to you! If you'd like to follow me on Instagram, Twitter, or add me on Facebook, you'll find those links under the Contact Me page in the menu. You can also message me on TamaTalk! My username is *mimitchi*. :) Let's be friends! Interests and Hobbies Besides collecting Tamagotchis, there are lots of other things I like to do! I am a Pianist and a Singer (Alto/Mezzo) and I have an Instagram dedicated to short covers I post (@kaa_music)!
